All the files are formatted as comma delimited text with the appropriate headers. Between the time period of November 1994 and December 1996, you will find text files for the surface and bottom salinity data for each month a USGS survey was conducted. In August 1996 the USGS began digitally collecting surface salinity data. As for the 1997 textfiles, there are no bottom salinity text files since bottom salinity surveys were discontinued after December 1996. The digital surface files will be much larger and will contain an approximate range of 9,000 to 20,000 salinity point data.
